Conrad Long was born Aug. 1, 1815, and departed this life at his home near Stevensborough, Culpepper Co., Va., April 2, 1893; aged 77 years, 8 months, and 1 day. (Conrad's will says he died April 1st.) Mr. Long had joined the Lutheran church in early life, while a resident of Pennsylvania. Later in life, he came to Virginia where he spent several years in Shenandoah and Rockingham counties. About 9 years ago he removed to Culpeper county, where he has lived a highly respected citizen ever since. At the ripe old age of nearly 78 years, God called him into eternity, still confessing the faith. On Easter Monday his funeral was preached by the writer from Gen. 25 : 8, and his remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Culpepper, Va.
