Services were to be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Bethel Baptist Church for John Lawson Bean, 81, retired farmer of Hartselle 1. Mr. Bean died at his residence Sunday morning.
The Rev. Joe Gomes, pastor, was to officiate, burial was to be in the church cemetery. Brown Funeral Home of Decatur was in charge.
Mr. Bean was the son of the late Lawson G. Bean and Rebecca Ann Tapscott Bean. He was married in 1901 to the former Nina Stephenson Tapscott, who preceded him in death August 24, 1952.
Survivors include a son, Frank P. Bean, Hartselle; a daughter, Mrs. Joe E. Wright, Hartselle; a brother, Joe Bean, Hartselle; a sister, Mrs. Kate B. Patterson, Falkville; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers were to be Foster Sanders, Clarence Waldrop, Bill Bean, Murphy Slate, Johnny Mays, and James H. Stephenson.
