Son of Joseph Bingham and Ruth Post.
.
Husband of:
.
1) Abigail Unknown*, whom he married on May 4, 1771 in Norwich, New London, CT, and with whom he had eleven known children:
James Bingham
Reuben Bingham
Ira Bingham
Sylvia Bingham
Abigail Bingham
Jeremiah Bingham
Ruth Bingham
Lydia Bingham
Asahel Bingham
Laura Bingham #1
Laura Bingham 2
*Note: When Jeremiah married Abigail, one family genealogy calls her "widow Abigail Hawks," and refers to her as widow in several places, the other calls her "Abigail Hawkes." I suspect that author of the second history was less careful than the author of the first one. Neither gives the name of her parents, which makes the whole thing very iffy.
.
2) Anna Gay*, daughter of Ebenezer and Ann Gay of Sharon, Litchfield, CT.
*Note: When Jeremiah married Anna Smith, she was called "widow" and her birth record in CT, which coincides precisely with her gravestone in West Haven, VT, clearly identifies her as Anna Gay.
.
Per Find-a-grave contributor Stephen Payne: Deacon Jeremiah Bingham settled in Cornwall in the spring of 1784, built a log cabin, then moved his family here from Bennington.
.
He had been with the quartermaster's department at Ticonderoga in 1777, previous to its surrender to Burgoyne. His name is listed as a Revolutionary Soldier on the tablet placed at the Cornwall, VT D.A.R. Chapter House.

And Angel bid thee welcome to the [skies?}
