Enoch and Sophia had another son Enoch Thompson Nation (31 Jan 1845-27 Apr 1865), who joined Company G, 9th Indiana Cavalry with his brother Captain James Rariden Nation.

He was mustered in as a Private on 21 Jan 1864 and captured at Sulphur Branch Trestle, Limestone County, AL on 25 Sep 1864. He was held at the Cahaba Prison, Dallas County, AL until March of 1865.

He was one of the 55 men of the 9th Indiana Cavalry who were killed along with about 1,700 other soldiers when the steamship SULTANA exploded north of Memphis, TN on 27 Apr 1865.

His body was never recovered.
