Her daughter Hazel was my great-grandmother. I lived in the same house as Hazel the last years of Hazel's life. Hazel's mom was referred to as Nannie, never as Nancy. I think the confusion came from Nannie Brown that is a daughter to William and Hannah Brown. See obituary of my cousin Walter Brown.

He has a surviving sister named Nancy. Nancy was born Nannie and grew up in Rockholds, Kentucky. But when she moved off to the big city she decided she wanted to be called Nancy instead of Nannie. It fit in with the big city better. But the Nannie that was born in 1854 never moved off to the big city and was never referred to as Nancy.
