IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Marjorie Darlene Sherwood Arrington, age 87, passed away September 27, 2009 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

She was born March 20, 1922, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Ernest Clark Sherwood and Cecil Florence Carstensen Sherwood. She has lived in Idaho Falls since 1934, when the family moved here from Ely, Nevada.

On September 29, 1942, Marjorie married Woodrow Emerson Arrington in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. When he returned from World War II, they built a home on Saturn Avenue, where they raised their family of seven children.

Marjorie loved music, and was an accomplished pianist and organist. For many years she sang with the Idaho Falls Choralaires.

She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. Marjorie loved serving as a Relief Society President. Whether it was helping out at the Social Services, or teaching a lesson, she was truly happy being able to help people.

When World War II started, she joined with some other newlywed friends to form a support group called the "Cultural Arts Club." This group of women continued to meet for over 60 years in Idaho Falls. She was a member of the Eagle Rock Chapter of Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Mrs. Arrington is survived by her brother, Jerold C. (Mona) Sherwood, of Layton, Utah and her children, John S. (Martha) and Howard E. (Marilyn) both of Idaho Falls; daughter-in-law Martha W. Arrington of Powder Springs, GA; M. Jannet (Bill) Hatch of Hillsboro, OR; Barbara (David) Harwood of Kemmerer, WY; Ronald K (Deborah) of West Des Moines, IA; and Richard B.
