While living in Bloomington, Leona was married to Glenn D. Ruddell on May 29, 1931. The ceremony was held at the Methodist Parsonage in Columbus, Indiana. During this time she worked as a telephone operator for Shower Brothers Furniture.
"Bobbie" and Glenn moved in the early 1940's to Speedway, Indiana. It was there that she became a mother of two children, Jim and Jane. Motherhood was natural to her as was love. Raising her children was the purpose and sunshine of her life.
Sometime later the family moved to Rushville, Indiana." Bobbie" worked at the 20th Century Cleaners. She was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church, the Phi Associate of the Tri Kappa and the Rushville Woman's Club. She was liked by everyone that knew her!
In the early 1950's the family moved to Crown Point by the bay in San Diego, California. "Bobbie" continued to work and provide for her children. She also loved to laugh, be with her family and go on Sunday drives.
Before her retirement she and Glenn moved back to Bloomington, Indiana where she managed the Knightridge Apartments. "Bobbie" was always full of energy and ready to work and manage things that needed to be done. After a few years, she and Glenn moved back to Rushville where she lived until her death.
