Norris L. Hake Sr. was the son of Jacob Hake and Anna Barbra Pfiffer. His paternal grandparents were John George Hake and Catherine Wortman Hake. Norris' maternal grandparents were Nicholas and Eva Pfiffer.

The children of Jacob Hake and Anna Pfiffer were:

Norris was a carpenter and a contractor for many years. He built many house in the Niles - Warren area. He was a member of the Niles Christian Church and the Howland Grange. He died at this home, Just-Mere-Farm on the Niles-Cortland Road.
