Mark Sampson, 60, formerly of Brainerd, passed away October 28th at his home in Montevideo. A visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, November 2nd at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo from 9-11:00 a.m. followed by interment in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Brainerd at 3:30 p.m. that afternoon.

Marion Mark Sampson was born in Jackson, MN to Esther Carrison and Marion Sampson. He grew up on the family farm in Jackson and graduated from high school there in 1973. He worked in a detox center and at a lumber yard in Willmar after high school. He married Marie Teas on May 25, 1979 and 3 children were born unto this union: Angela, Andrew & Ashley Sampson. He and Marie divorced in 1985 and he subsequently moved to Brainerd.

On February 14, 1998, he married Cynthia Burns. He also worked as a TMA at the Crow Wing Detox Center in Brainerd from 2000 to 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed his employment there.

Mark enjoyed going to the races, spending time with family and had great interest in classic cars. In his younger years, he had an extensive collection of model classic cars and took special pride in his fully restored 1951 Ford pickup.

Mark is survived by his children: Angie (Jason) Danielson of Montevideo, Andy (Neidra) Sampson of Fredericksburg, VA; Ashley (Brian) Dwire of Kerkhoven; step-daughter Michelle (Skip) Clark of Big Lake, step-son Mike (Jenny) Burns of Nisswa; grandchildren: Isaac Grannes, Austin Danielson, Sabrina Munoz, Andrew Munoz, Colton Dwire, Dalton Dwire, Cuyler Clark; Katie Burns and Ella Burns; and siblings: Chuck (Sandy), Eddie (Barb), Rollie (Linda) and Barb (Terry) Sirovy. He is preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia; parents, Marion & Esther Sampson; and brother, Bernard Sampson.
