Homer Wilson Corbitt, husband of Bernice V. McVey Corbitt was born 15 Feb 1917 at Lucile, Wirt County, the son of Albert Gallatin Corbitt, Jr. & Bessie Pearl Burch Corbitt. Homer served in the U.S. Army in WWII. He & Bernice were wed on 7 Dec 1940. Homer died at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, Wood County on 11 July 1970 and was buried in Evergreen North Cemetery in Parkersburg. Bernice joined him in the Eternal realm on 22 Sept 2009.

Homer's twin brother Harold Marshall Corbitt & spouse Geneva Enoch Corbitt are interred in Palestine Ce., Wirt Co., WV, as are Homer & Harold's parents. Their grandparents were Albert Gallatin Corbitt, Sr. & Phoebe Margalisa Hodam Corbitt. Their great-grandparents were George & Rebecca Deviese Corbitt. Their great-great grandparents were James Corbitt, Sr. & Elizabeth Rockhold Corbitt.
