John Lewis Stewart

John Lewis Stewart died at home in his sleep on September 21, 2009. He was 88 years old. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Sarah (Sally) Stewart; his son, John Lewis (Jay) Stewart II and his daughter, Susan Stewart Byman. He is survived by his children, Bruce Carl (Cathy) Stewart, Shelley Stewart (Dennis) Boje, Rebecca Stewart (Glenn) Jandran, and Joy Stewart Hine; as well as brother-in-law, John Kennel and sisters-in-law, Eva Grimm and Elizabeth Marfil. He was blessed with 19 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nephews and nieces.
John Stewart was a faithful and zealous minister of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 50 years. He was often interviewed by the press as News Service Director for the annual District Conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses held here in Tucson. He will be deeply missed by many, and we look forward to seeing John and Sally Stewart when they are resurrected into the promised paradise on earth. (John 5:28, 29; Acts 24:15).
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 4729 N. Silverbell Rd. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the World Wide Work of Jehovah's Witnesses, or to Casa de la Luz Hospice.
