Omer Amundson, 77, Crookston, died of cancer Monday, Sept. 25, 1995, in United Hospital, Grand Forks, after a short illness.

Omer M. Amundson was born May 6, 1918, in Inkster, N.D., the son of Arnold and Gertrude (Mann) Amundson. He grew up on the family farm in the Inkster-Fordville area and attended rural school. He married Genevieve Elaine Common Dec. 6, 1941, in Crookston. They farmed near Gilby, N.D., and then moved to Maple Lake, near Mentor, Minn., in 1974. He did carpentry on many lake homes. They moved to Crookston in 1985. Genevieve Amundson died Jan. 1, 1986. He married Elaine VanOstrand May 6, 1987. They wintered in Donna, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, two children, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; stepson; a brother, Walter, Gilby; sisters, Florence (Mrs. Neil) Vold, Grand Forks, and Doris (Mrs. Orin) Knudson, Larimore, N.D.; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
