Charles Kemp died at the home of his daughter in Bedford, March 26, His body was taken to Leavenworth for burial March 27. Mr Kemp had lived in Leavenworth until a few years ago when he went to Bedford to live with his daughter. Mrs. Ray Lyon. Funeral service were conduction in the M. E. church by R. E. Mueller where a large crowd of friends and relatives gathered at 1:30 P. M. Those who mourn their loss are Mrs. Ola Palmer. Mrs. Bertha Lyon, of Bedford; Mrs Hattie Kurtz, of Fredericksburg; Mrs. Maggie Parks and William Roy Kemp, of MT. Carmel. The body was laid to rest in Cedar Cemetery.
Charles was married to Nancy R. Yates in 03 Apr 1872 at Crawford Co., Indiana. Nancy is also buried in Ceder Cemetery. Charles father was Charles Kemp B. 1789 at Fort Harrod, Mercer Co., Kentucky, and died on 1870 at Fredonia, Crawford Co., Indiana, his mother was Elvina Martin Pearson B. 1797 in Kentucky D. 1888 at Crawford Co., Indiana Charled had six children, Ida Ollie Kemp B. Dec 1877, Maggie F. Kemp B. 1874, Olie Kemp B. 1878, Bertha Kemp B. Apr 1880, William "Roy" Kemp B. 1882 and Hattie Belle Kemp B. 11 Jan 1889
