Robert Frank Alford, 76, well known farmer of this vicinity, died at his home in Memphis last Thursday, March 12, after having been in ill health for the past several months. Born in Gibson County, Tenn., November 15, 1882, Mr. Alford had farmed in Pemiscot county for many years and lived on Route U until moving to Memphis several months ago after his health failed.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary D. Alford; two granddaughters, Mrs. Mary Diane Davis of Memphis and Mrs. Jackie Holloman of Chicago; also a grandson, Frankie Holloman.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church here Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, with the Rev. Floyd V. Brower officiating. Burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery with LaForge Undertaking Company service.
