J. E. Dunn, 89, Abilene resident since 1909, died Saturday at 6 a. m. at his home, 1534 S. 8th St., after several weeks illness.
Born Feb. 17, 1872 in Kentucky, he came to Texas as a small boy. He married Martha Ballew in 1890. She died in 1946. He married Verdie Allie Legg here in 1947. She died in 1958.
Mr. Dunn Retired in 1958 after working for the Singer Sewing Machine Co. for many years.
He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Funeral will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. in Kiker-Warren Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Cash, pastor of First Church of Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. W. C. Joyner of 750 Pecan, Mrs. Claude F. Cowden, 526 Ross; four sons, Clarence L. of 774 Grand, J. H. of Port Neches, Jack of Westminister, Calif.; and E. E. of Burbank, Calif.; one brother John of Bryan; one sister, Mrs. A.J. Smith of McKinney.
