Raymond Benjamin Keeler, 51, Great Northern Railway conductor for the past 27 years, died suddently at 3 p.m. last Thursday (October 28, 1954) from a heart attack. He was preparing to leave on his regular run at the time of death. Charles Brill, brakeman, discovered his body a few minutes following death when he entered the caboose of the train which was about to leave the yards.

Keeler, an ardent sportsman, was a member of the Catholic Church, Order of Railway Conductors and F.O. Eagles.

Keeler was born March 13, 1903 in Barry, Minnesota, the eldest son of the late Charles and Katherine Keeler and was united in marriage June 3, 1932 at Beardsly, Minnesota to Avis Simpson of Collis. To this union three children were born: Graham, who attends the University of Washington Seattle; two daughters, (Kathryn) Mrs. Arnold Rogers of Havre and Jeanne at home.

Also surviving are two sisters, (Annie) Mrs. Elmer Klucas of Willmar, Minnesota and (Julia) Mrs. James Lusk of Los Angeles, California; three brothers, Charles of Watertown, SD, Vernon and John of Havre; and two grandchildren (Douglas Michael Hardison and Patricia Lynn Rogers); an aunt, Mrs. Mary Keeler of Barry, MN, all of whom attended the funeral. Others attending from a distance were Charles Simpson of Herman, MN, Kathleen Keeler of Great Falls and Elmer Klucas of Willmar, MN.

Rosary for Mr. Keeler was recited Monday evening at the Holland and Bonine Funeral home and requiem mass at St. Jude's Catholic church Tuesday morning.

Interment was at Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers were Victor Peters, Arthur Brix, Guy Taylor, Sr., Walter McKnight, Leo Sticka and Arthur Daum.
