Joe Kinnard was born Jan. 12, 1925, in Elam Junction, Pleasant Grove, Dallas County. He was seventh of 12 children born to Laban B. and Ethel May Sweet Kinnard. Mr. Kinnard retired from General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin after more than 45 years of service. He attended Sagamore Hill Baptist, then Glenview Baptist Church. He loved to play gospel or country tunes on his mandolin with his brother Chuck on the guitar.
Joe Kinnard and Reta Jones Baldwin met at Haltom Senior Center and were the first couple married in this facility, as reported in the Star-Telegram. This was their favorite place for entertainment and fellowship.
He was preceded in death by three wives and nine siblings.
Survivors: Wife, Reta Jones Baldwin Kinnard; daughter, Martha Jo Ortiz; brothers, Charlie Kinnard and Dr. Paul Kinnard and wife, Mary; grandchildren, Larry, Ann Marie and April; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
