Laura Alice (Price) Smith – Age 77, Passed away March 7, 1981 at the Columbus Manor, after a lingering illness. She was born at Woodville, Nebraska August 31, 1903, to James and Helen (Sutton) Price. At the age of two and a half, her mother passed away. She went to stay with her Aunt Sadie and Uncle Henry Peterson until she was old enough to stay with her Father, brother and sisters. She attended School at Big Cut near St. Edward, Nebraska. February 19, 1925 she married Lee Arnold Raymond Smith of St. Edward, Nebraska. They were married in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They farmed in the St. Edward area and then later in Monroe. The Last 17 years of her life Laura lived in Columbus, Nebraska. To this Loving Family, God gave two sons and one daughter, Harlan, Marlow and JoAnn. 15 grandchildren were presented to these Loving Grandparents. Cynthia, Steve, Tracy and Lisa by Harlan. Scott, Marcia, Mike, Chris, Kye and Pam by Marlow. Candice, Timothy, Melody, Lorie and Laurel by JoAnn. Four Great grandchildren, Nichole Vavricek, Tracy Sueper, Melissa and Jason Breed. Laura spent her life doing for others, always willing to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed working with the Circle II of the missionary society at Highland Park Evangelical Free Church where she was a member. Her Loving husband passed away December 22, 1963. Her son Harlan passed away December, 1970. Also preceding her in death were her parents, four sisters, one brother and a grandson.
