James A. Fisk, 89, long-time Wellston resident, died Saturday, Dec. 26, in a Chandler nursing home following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were Monday in the Curry Funeral Home Chapel, Chandler, with Rev. Roy Bickford officiating. Interment was at Wellston Cemetery.
Mr. Fisk was born Sept. 25, 1881 in Ray county, Mo., the son of Henry and Mattie Perry Fisk. He came to Oklahoma in his early youth and had lived in the Wellston area since that time.
He was married to Theo Perry on April 22, 1908 at Gainesville, Texas. A retired farmer, Mr. Fisk was a member of the United Methodist Church of Wellston.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Theo Fisk, of the home at Wellston; four daughters, Mrs. Lillie Baker and Mrs. Elsie Cobb, both of Edmond, Mrs. Ethel Stewart, Visalia, Calif., and Mrs. Gertie Allenbaugh of Meeker; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. One son preceded him in death.
