He was a sportsman and loved the outdoors. He went hunting and fishing as often as possible.
He worked for Trinity Marine and was leadman on his job. He was preceded in death by his half brother, Jerry Hooper and his mother, Dorothy Mae Hatley.
Survivors include: his father, Billy Bert Hatley of Caruthersville, Mo.; his wife, Gloria Hatley of Caruthersville, Mo.; one stepson, James Gobea of Caruthersville, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Barbie Gobea of Caruthersville, Mo.; four brothers, Ronnie Hatley of Ripley, Tn., Billy W. Hatley, Dennis Hatley and Gary Hatley all of Caruthersville, Mo.; one sister, Tina Watkins of Caruthersville, Mo.
Services were held November 16, 1997 at the Dean Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Maynard officiating. Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery.
