THOMAS S. FRANKLIN BAILEY

Thomas S. Franklin Bailey was born in South Carolina Aug. 16, 1845. He moved to Arkansas and is listed in or near Magnolia, Columbia County in the 1880 U.S. Census.

Thomas married Sarah , March 16,1870 in Columbia County, Arkansas. She was born in 1854 in Arkansas to Sexton and Matilda Smith. Thomas and Sarah had two children, John William Bailey and Annie Elizabeth Bailey. Sarah died around 1876/1880 and is buried in Arkansas.

After the death of Sarah, Thomas married Rebecca Clark Dees of Emmet Arkansas. Thomas was 33 and Rebecca was 22 when they married, May 19, 1884 in Columbia County, Arkansas.

Thomas and Rebecca moved to Claiborne Parish, Louisiana after 1884. Thomas and Rebecca had at least ten children, Sarah Jessie, Benjamin Franklin, Simon Jackson, James Franses, Hampton Lamar, Dolphus Rowland, Lillie, Willie (Twins),Pauline and Denzil Lemar Bailey.

Thomas and Rebecca are buried in Summerfield Cemetery, Claiborne Parish, Louisiana.
