"BRISTOL, AUGUSTUS, Farmer; Sec. 19; P. O. Savanna; born in Litchfield Co., Conn., Nov. 26, 1893; came to Carroll Co. with his parents when 4 years of age, and has lived here 34 years; is engaged in farming; he owns, in connection with his brother Augustine, 450 acres of land."

Augustus enlisted in the Illinois Infantry, D Company, 140th Infantry Regiment on 18 Jun 1864. He was mustered out on 29 Oct 1864 at Camp Fry, Chicago, IL. Sources: Illinois: Roster of Officers and Enlisted Men.
