Mr. William Henry Morris, 85, of 511 Beaufort Dr., Augusta, Georgia, entered into rest at 9:25 p.m., Sunday, July 30, 1961, in a local infirmary following an extended illness.

A native of Walterboro, S.C., he was the husband of the late Mrs. Zilphia M. Morris. His parents were the late Mr. Francis Marion Morris and Mrs. Annie Mildred Griffin Morris, natives of South Carolina.

Mr. Morris was a member of the Crawford Avenue Baptist Church. He had been a firemen at Daniel Field and was recently retired.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J.E. Britt of Evans, Ga., and Mrs. C.E. Stringer of Augusta; two sons, William LeRoy Morris of Memphis, Tenn., and L.M. Morris of Augusta; a brother, Perry Morris of Florence, S.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Carter of Charleston, S.C., and Mrs. Bessie Winchenback of Augusta; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Platt's Chapel with the Rev. Robert C. Daniel officiating. Interment will be in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be; Howard Bowers, M.O. Stringer, Al Smith, G.W. Lewis, T.L. Morgan and W.M. Brickle.
