Mavis Stone Batts, 77, of Middlesex died Wednesday. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Burial will follow in the Stone Family Cemetery, Stone Heritage Road. The Rev. Hollis Dwight Fedrick and the Rev. Roland C. Stone will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Mrs. Batts is survived by two daughters, Deborah Batts Fedrick and husband, the Rev. Hollis Dwight Fedrick of Coats and Lacy Batts Welch and husband, William Curtis Welch of Lithia, Fla.; three grandsons, Timothy Dwight Fedrick, Jacob Daniel Welch and Jessee River Welch; three sisters, Jean Stone Burnette, Lucy Stone and Joan Stone Goodman; four brothers, James Ray Stone, the Rev. B.D. Stone, Billy W. Stone and the Rev. Roland C. Stone.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond G. Stone.
