Iona Vance, 83, of Clarks Hill, died Friday, April 20, 2007, at Williamsburg Health Care in Crawfordsville. She was born Jan. 29, 1924, in Stockwell, to the late John R. Barnaby and Goldie G. Barnaby. Her husband, John D. Vance, preceded her in death. Mrs. Vance worked for Landis and Gyr from 1953 to 1989, before retiring. She was a member of Clarks Hill Christian Church. Surviving are two daughters, Karen A. Loden (husband: Richard) of Marshall and Janet C. Maitlen (husband: Dennis) of Lafayette; and a sister, Mary J. Sipple of Clarks Hill, Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Sheri King, Darren Thomas, Toby Thomas, and Sean Maitlen; and 6 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Wilson; a brother, Fred Barnaby; and a son-in-law, Dennis Maitlen. Friends will be received Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Fisher-Loy Funeral Chapel in Lafayette with service there 10 a.m. Monday, Brother Don Perry officiating.
