Mrs. Linnie Greenwell, life long resident of Pemiscot County, died at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital last Thursday, February 17, after an illness of several months.
Mrs. Greenwell was born September 15, 1908, at Cooter, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pounds, and was aged 46 years, five months and two days. On November 11, 1925, she was married to J.C. (Clay) Greenwell and for many years they had lived on Route 1, a short distance west of this city.
For many years she had been a member of Eastwood Memorial Methodist Church and active in its work, and also was active in extension club work in the county.
In addition to her husband she leaves a son, Dickie; two sisters, Mrs. Atlas Wallace of Steele and Mrs. Ernest Miller of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Joseph Pounds and a half-brother, Billy Pounds.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Methodist church, the Rev. Floyd Brower conducting the service. Burial was in Little Prairie cemetery with LaForge Undertaking Company in charge.
