R. S. (Sid) Davis, 84, a resident of the Dennis community died in a loca hospital at 10:00 a.m. Saturday. He had been in declining health for three years and seriously ill for the past week.
He was born in Scottsville, Arkansas on June 19, 1872 and come to Texas in 1885 and had lived here continously since that time. He was a retired farmer.
His wife preceded him in death in 1942. He is survived by one son, Robert L. Davis, Dennis; one brother Reese Bowen Davis; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in White's Funeral Chapel with Claude C. Smith minister of the South Main Church of Christ, conducting the services. Burial was in the Brock Cemetery . Pallbearers were Cliff Hubbard, J. T. Hackett, Jr, C. L. Dees, E. M. Smithers, Steve Faith and Barney Harrison.
