Son of Samuel Culter Davis and Cynthia Matilda Howell Davis.

C. L. "Lum" Davis, 85, died Tuesday afternoon on a local hospital, following a short illness. Funeral services were held this morning at the South Side Church of Christ, with minister Claude C. Smith in charge and burial was in the family plot in Brock Cemetery.
Mr. Davis was born near Trion, George on Feb 27, 1868 and came to Texas in 1885. In September 1889 he married Miss Mary Alice Grant of Parker County. She died in 1929. Four children, who survive him were born to this union. Mr. Davis had lived in the Brock Community since moving to Texas. In 1931, he married Mrs. J. H. (Corinth) Cummings of Lipan. She passed away in 1941.
The children surviving Mr. Davis are Mrs. Tom Hackett, Mrs. Deward Hubbard, and Albert S. Davis, all of Weatherford; and mrs. Edgar Huffman of Gainesville. he also leaves two brother, R. S. Davis of Dennis and R. B. Davis of El Paso. Four step-daughters, Mrs. John Dyre of Lipan, Mrs. Klondyke Ater and Mrs. Nugent Petty of Ft. Worth, and Mrs. Amon Anderson of Eastland; and six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Mr Davis was a Master Mason and a Royal Arch Mason and member of the Church of Christ.
