"Abel Telemachus Claypool, 86, of Attica, member of a widely known and pioneer land-owning family of Western Indiana, died Monday, June 2, 1964, in the Williamsport Community Hospital where he had been a patient three days. He was a retired farmer and a graduate of the old Indianapolis Law School and became a member of the Indiana Bar. He was familiarly known as "A.T."

Mr. Claypool was born in Shawnee Township, Fountain County, the son of James C. and Caroline Odell Claypool. He was married to Carson Lemon who died on May 1, 1940. He is survived by one son, Paul Edward of Lafayette; three daughters, Mrs. Josephine Goings and Mrs. Alice Farrell, both of Indianapolis; and Mrs. Carson Hambright of Perrysville; and a sister, Miss Jessie Claypool of Attica, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The body was taken to the DeSutter Funeral Home where friends were to call after 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Rev. Douglas Dickey, pastor of the Williamsport Christian Church, officiating.
