Elmer J. Blythe, 71, Courtland, died Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. S.J. Anderson; five brothers, E.V., D.B. and Gus Blythe, all of Leighton; J.E. Blythe, Decatur; and James Blythe, Courtland.
Funeral services for Elmer J. Blythe were held today at 11 a.m. from the presbyterian Church with Rev. John Hottel conducting.
Burial was in the Courtland Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing.

Son of Sylvester Blythe and Sardinia Smith Blythe. He was 71 years old at the time of his death.

He never married. He was a veteran of WW I. He was a government employee and a contractor, and was known for his ability to build custom made boats.
In his later years, he boarded with his cousins in Birmingham, AL and lived with his half brother, James Blythe, in Courtland, AL.
