Grace LaFrinier, 97, Mahnomen, died Saturday, June 22, 2002, in Mahnomen Health Care Center, where she had lived for the past two years.

Grace M. Gilbertson was born Jan. 4, 1905, the daughter of Gilbert and Gunda (Qualey) Gilbertson, in Faith, Minn., where she attended school. She married Ben LaFrinier on June 5, 1954. They lived in Mahnomen and farmed. Ben LaFrinier died July 3, 1977. She is survived by daughters, Jean Wark, Mahnomen, Joyce (Brent) Stolpestad, Nevis, Minn., and Gayle (Virgil) Roy, Renton, Wash.; sons, Ruben (Gwen), Duluth, and Gary (Sylvia), Mahnomen; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ella McCarson and Ruth Sandefur, both of Skokie, Ill.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis; two sisters; and three brothers.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Nee Gon Nee Lutheran Church, Roy Lake, Minn.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Anderson Funeral Home, Mahnomen.

Burial: St. Anne s Catholic Cemetery, Naytahwaush, Minn.
