Enoch served with the Utah Calvary in 1866 during the Blackhawk War. He was a Private, Fifth Platoon, under the command of Captain James Andrus. A member of this Company, Private Elijah Averett, Jr., Third Platoon, was killed while they were out on patrol in pursuit of an Navajo raiding party.
