Mrs. Etta Altom of the McCarty community died Friday, January 22, at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital and her funeral was held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the Dean Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Frank Payne conducted the service and burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery.
She was born in Bath Springs, Tenn. April 26, 1881, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fate Tucker, and was 89 years old. Her husband, "Uncle Bud" Alton preceded her in death in 1942.
She leaves a step-son, Joseph Ken Altom of Route 1, City; two granddaughters, Mrs. Jo Marie Jean and Mrs. Irene Klinkhardt, both of Caruthersville; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; also two brothers, Mark Tucker of Bath Springs, and Coy Tucker of Cedar Grove, Tenn., and a sister, Miss Willie Tucker of Bath Springs.
