John Carlile was born John Stephen Carlile on March 2, 1867 to Stephen & Lottie Carlile. Mollie and John had one child: Stephen Nila “Jack” Carlile who was born on March 28, 1900. The 1900 Indian Territory census record shows the family listed as: John Carlile, Mary E. Carlile, Nila Carlile, Ivy Buchanan, Harley Buchanan and Oscar Buchanan. Oscar Buchanan was Harley and Ivy’s older half-brother from their father, Alfred Buchanan’s previous marriage.
Mary Elvira "Mollie" Crawford Carlile passed away in 1904 in Gore, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma at the age of 39. She is buried on private land just west of the Gore Cemetery in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma.
