Harry A. Dircks, age 81, resident of Brainerd, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at his home.

Harry was born Jan. 2, 1922, in New Market, Minn., to Jacob and Anna Dircks. He married Bonnie Gorron at St. Francis Church in Brainerd May 11, 1946. He had been a long time Crow Wing County resident. Harry and Bonnie owned and operated Dircks Hillside from 1959 until 1971. He was a member of St. Mathias Catholic Church. Harry worked at Pre-Pack making pre-cast cement products and at the Mahnomen Mine in Crosby. In his later years Harry also worked as a farmer.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Pikula, and son, Richard Dircks, both of Brainerd; eight grandchildren, Kirk, Joshua, Matthew, Shawn, Nicolas, Aaron, Crystal and Amy; two great-grandchildren, Natascha and Hunter; and a sister, Helen Vopatek of Brainerd.

Preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, son, Brian, daughter, Glenda Hayes, and brothers, John, Art, Julius and Walt.

Mass of Christian Burial was held 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at St. Mathias Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Mathias Cemetery in St. Mathias Township. Arrangements with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd.
