Born in Caruthersville on October 1, 1902, he was the son of the late Thomas and Leora Heard Sample. For many years he operated an automobile repair business on Eastwood avenue.
He leaves two sons, Donald Joe Sample of St. Louis and James Earl Sample of Colorado Springs; two grandchildren; two brothers, Tim and Irvin Samples of the Dry Bayou community; and a sister, Mrs. Mary King of Memphis.
Funeral services were held yesterday (Thursday) morning at the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. John Baker conducting the requiem mass. Burial was in Little Prairie cemetery, with LaForge Undertaking Company service.
