Joyce Shoulders Burns age 75 of Gladewater and formerly of Annona, passed away July 7, 2009 in Gladewater.
Mrs. Burns was born July 24, 1933 in Clarksville to Elmer and Rena Spangler Shoulders. She and her husband Clyde owned Burns Feed in Boxelder. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Boxelder United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Burns on April 12, 2007, a sister, Dorothy Jean Shoulders; and brother, Elmer Shoulders, Jr.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2009 in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Dink Benton officiating. Burial will follow in Savannah Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 7 at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Marlena Malone Warthan and husband Jerry of Arlington, Nanci Malone Ogilvie and husband Bruce of Gladewater; 2 sisters, Doris Howland and Carnell Shoulders of Clarksville; brother, John Shoulders of Sherman; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 God grandchild and another grandchild due in February.
Pallbearers are Zack Smith, Keith and Alek Williams, David Shoulders and Charles Jones.
The family asks that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
