GOOD WOMAN DEAD.

Mrs. Elizabeth Wheeler Died at 10 O'clock Wednesday Night.

Died, at the home in Fulton, Mo., on Wednesday night, March 16 [1898], after a long illness, Mrs. Elizabeth Wheeler, aged 74 years.

Her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Mason came to Callaway County, Mo., from Georgetown, Scott County, Ky., in the year 1829, Mrs. Wheeler's maiden name was Elizabeth Mason and was married to William L. Wheeler on the 21st day of November, 1848, by Rev. Absalom rice, a pioneer minister of the Christian church in Callaway County.

Mrs. Wheeler was born July 7, 1824, and was therefore nearly 74 years of age at the time of her death. She united with the Christian church when she was a young lady and lived ever afterward a consistent Christian life. She leaves four daughters and one son, all of whom are living and are married. The children are as follows: Mrs. Anna Adams, wife of P. S. Adams; Mrs. Lena Nickell, wife of L. U. Nickell; Mrs. Ida McCue, wife of D. C. McCue; Mrs. N. [Nellie] Dodson, wife of Rev. George Dodson, and Louis M. Wheeler, all of whom live in Fulton except Mrs. Dodson, whose home is in the State of California.

Her funeral will be preached at the Christian church tomorrow morning at 10:30, conducted by Rev. A. B. Phillips, assisted by Rev. Frank W. Allen. Burial at the New Cemetery [Hillcrest]

AN OLD LADY GONE

Mrs. Bettie Wheeler died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Luther Nickell in Fulton on the 16th. She was one of the Callaway pioneer women, the widow of the late W. L. Wheeler for many years cashier of the Southern bank at Fulton. She was the mother of Mesdames P. S. Adams, Luther Nickell and D. C. McCue of Fulton and Mrs. George Dodson of Alameda California also Lewis Wheeler of Fulton. She was an aunt of Mesdames C. A. McCue and C. R. Adams and A. B. Kidwell. The funeral was from the Christian Church at Fulton last Friday. She was 74 years old and will be mourned by many friends as well as by those to whom she was so closely related.
