James Chambers died at his home a mile and a mile and a half north of Cerro Gordo on Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 9 a. m., of typhoid fever. He had been ill about two weeks. His son, John Chambers, had died of the same disease but two days before, and the funeral was held on Monday.
Four daughters of Mr. Chambers have been afflicted with the fever, and three of them have nearly recovered. The
eldest daughter was quite ill and is now at the turning point of the disease.
