She was the wife of Edwin K. Beck to whom she had been married for 68 years.
Born in Harrisburg on July 31, 1921, Kate was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Meng) Kapp. She was also predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Schneiker.
Kate was a graduate of John Harris High School, Class of '39. She was employed as a manager at Bowman's Department Store and retired from Blue Shield. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Camp Hill for over fifty years. An avid traveler, Kate and her husband visited all 50 states, Mexico and Europe, as well as various islands. She loved singing, dancing and playing the piano. Kate also enjoyed playing cards and socializing with her many friends, as well as spending time with her large family. She will be sadly missed by all.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Jeanne B. Reese and her husband Barry, of Pasadena, MD; her son, James E. Beck and his wife Idana, of Camp Hill, PA; 8 grandchildren, Susan (Steve) Mitrzyk , Deborah (C.R.) Citrone, Kristen (Jim) Vinyard, Aaron (Cathy) Beck, Daniel (Stacy) Beck, Derek (Tiffany) Beck, Nathan Beck, and Devon (Lauren) Beck; 13 great-grandchildren, Andrew and Paxton Citrone, Rachel and Aaron Vinyard, Steven and Samuel Mitrzyk, Juliana and Abagail Beck, Katie and Jason Beck, Braden and Kylie Beck, and Ava Beck, who is expected very soon. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Schale and Evelyn Beck and by a brother-in-law, John Beck; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and family friends.
A viewing will be held at the Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA on Friday, September 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service led by Pastor Guy Edmiston. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill, PA.
