Elnora is the daughter of John Martin Reiss and Margaret Ann Cullens. She married Charles Shaw on Nov 21, 1905 in Luray KS. They had four children; Roy James (1909-1988), Fred "Freddie" Harold (1911-1994), Benjamin "Benny Phillip (1913-) and an infant son that died along with Elnora on Oct 30, 1915.

Elnora Reiss was born April 22nd, 1889 in Kansas. She grew to womanhood in Luray, Kansas and on June 11th, 1908 she was married to Charles Shaw who was born June 16th, 1880. They lived on a farm north of Luray, until her death in 1915, she was 26 years of age. She and an infant son are both buried in the Luray cemetery. Her death occuring Oct 30th, 1915. Later, Charles Shaw moved to Dorrance, Kansas where he owned and operated a grain elevator business until a short time beofre his death on ?. There were three sons raised by the maternal grandpatents until such time as they thought they could be out on their own. Charles Shaw is buried at Dorrance, Kansas. His father, Adolophus Shaw formerly owned the town paper Dorrance, KS.
Charles was born in a house that stood on the main street of Dorrance. Park of this house is still standing today.
