Dena W. Annis
Dena W. Annis, 78, of Merrill, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at her home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services and surrounded by her family.
Dena was born Oct. 5, 1928, in Norrie, daughter of the late Peter Sr. and Clara (Van Prooyen) Suwyn. Dena married Robert Annis on Sept. 27, 1947, in Otley, Iowa. He survives.
Dena graduated from Birnamwood High School in 1946. She was a clerk for Van's Meat Market in Merrill for 45 years. Dena was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was in the church choir and Altar Guild. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, working word search and jigsaw puzzles, and helping others. Dena enjoyed collecting anything that had a butterfly on it. She loved life and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at Faith Lutheran Church, town of Maine. The Rev. David Klemm will officiate. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, and again from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
