Julia Ann Schultz, daughter of John and Elizabeth Schultz, was born near Guide Rock on December 1, 1885, and passed away at her home in Hastings on September 19, 1952, after a lingering illness, aged 66 years, 10 months and 18 days.
She was united in marriage to Chas. A. Haskins of Guide Rock on January 29, 1908. Four children were born to this union, two of whom preceded her in death - Gilbert on April 14, 1925 at the age of two days, and Merna Leota Fairbanks on March 5, 1946 at the age of 31 years.
She became a member of the Christian church in 1910 and was as long as her health permitted.
With the exception of about six years, the family home has been in or near Hastings.
She leaves, besides her husband, one son, , one daughter, eight grandchildren and one great grandson, also her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Schultz of Guide Rock, four brothers ; five sisters, , a large number of nieces and nephews and friends.
Services were conducted by the Rev Chas. Livington at the Livingston Butler, Volland Chapel in Hastings at two o'clock Monday afternoon, September 22.
