VETERAN OF WORLD WAR II~OBITUARY OF FRANK L. ARMSTRONG

Frank L. ARMSTRONG, 78, of Perryton, died January 02. 1998.

Funeral Services were held Monday, January 05, at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Roger and Rev. Bill Sparks officiating. Burial was in Ochiltree Cemetery under the direction of Boxwell Brothers.

He was born in Lincoln, Arkansas on June 19, 1919, and had lived in Perryton since 1960, moving here from Pawhuska, Oklahoma. He married Leona BRIDGES on November 06, 1949 in Borger.

He served in the United States Army from 1943-45, in France, England, Germany and Austria. He was a driller and pumper for Diamond-Shamrock Oil Company for 33-1/2 years.

He was a member of the Ochiltree County Senior Citizens Association and Southside Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Leona; three daughters, Patricia SMITH of Perryton, Alicia PIPKIN of Spearman and Teresa FREEMAN of Poncha Springs, Colorado; one son, Hugh ARMSTRONG of Lubbock; two sisters, Mattie MAYER of Battle Creek, Michigan and Neva WOOD of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother, Roy ARMSTRONG of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; two half-sisters, Dorothy GRAY of Dallas and Nena DOOLEY of Duncanville, Oklahoma; two half-brothers, James ARMSTRONG and Richard ARMSTRONG, both of Dallas; and three grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Ronald McDonald House, 1501 Streit, Amarillo, TX 79106 or to Hansford Hospice, 707 South Roland, Spearman, TX 79081.
