Mrs. Koszcesza maiden name was Caroline Wilhelmina Perzae. She was born in Steffenwalde, Germany, May 29, 1846. She married Louis P. Koszcesza In Germany. They came to America in 1880. Coming directly to Decatur where they have since made their home. She had been in ill health for the last seven years and had been confined to her bed for the last two weeks. Death was due to complication of diseases. In addition to her husband Mrs. Koszcesza leaves five daughters and four sons. They are Mrs. William Karloski, Mrs. John Karloski, Mrs. Charles Sablotni, Mrs. August Herbrig, Mrs. Gottliebe Goldenback all of Decatur and Fred, Jesse, Adolph, Charlie and William Koszcesza, all of Decatur and thirty-three grandchildren and twelve grandchildren. Since coming to Decatur forty-six years ago, the Koszcesza's have always lived in the 900 block North Morgan street and for the last thirty-five years have lived in the same house. She was a member of St. Johannes Lutheran church.
