Charles Andrew Bonas was born on 8-17-1883 to Victor John and Getrude Mary VonRuden Bonas. He was the fourth of seven children. In 1903, the family migrated to Saskatchwen to homestead. On 2-18-1908, Charlie married Mary Rose Rath in Muenster, Saskatchewan. Mary died during the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918. She was weak from childbirth. Charles was left with 6 children under the age of 10. He left his children in the care of his brother and sister in law on their farm in Muenster and oved to Los Angeles where his skills as a brick mason could better be put to use. He and two of his brothers had a building company. Charlie died of Lung Cancer on 9-17-1958 at the home of his oldest son. He was survived by 5 of his 6 children, Jerome Victor, Genevieve Angeline, Harry Anton, Louise Anna and Marie Marguerite. His son, Eugene James was killed in WWII. He had 15 grandchildren.
