Elizabeth F. Sadler Day was the first wife of Gilbert Russell Day. She died Oct 14, 1896 and is buried beside her husband in Crawford Cemetery near Slocum, Texas. She was born in Anderson County, Texas on Aug 19, 1852, the daughter of Capt. William Turner Sadler and Permelia Bennett Sadler. The 1880 census lists these children, John F, Ida E, Mary P, and Jewel. After Elizabeth's death, Gilbert married Laura Sadler, Elizabeth's sister.
