George B. Van Winkle was the ninth and last child born to James A. (Abraham?) V. W. and Sarah Elizabeth Pike V. W. He was born in Illinois on January 10, 1865. He married Ida May Setzer (born in PA) on June 14, 1885 in Brock, Nemaha County, Nebraska. To this union were born the following children:
Troy Van Winkle – b. 1887 in Kirwin, Kansas. Married Pauline Gottschall - 1907 d. 1977
Clyde M. Van Winkle – b. 1886 in Brock, Nebraska - Ran away from home / disappeared / abducted as a child abut age 8 or 10.
Myrtle Belle Van Winkle - b. 1893 in Brock, Nebraska. Married Robert Cox - 1917 d. ?
