Joseph Giant Sr., aged 78, a life long resident of a farm in Jefferson Township, Allen County, died at 6 a.m. today at his home. Surviving are the widow, Mary; two sons, Eli and Joseph A.; seven daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane O'Shaughnessey, Mrs. Rebecca Lesh, Mrs. Elizabeth Gibson, Mrs. Anna Gerber, Mrs. Lenore Japp, Mrs. Irma Proegler and Mrs. Irene Jacquay; 31 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the home and at 9 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church at Besancon. The Rev. Nicholas J. Aligeier will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the home this evening from the Harper Funeral Home.
