Earl Buford Mitchell, Sr., 92, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at the MS State Veterans Home in Kosciusko.
Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday, August 29, 2009, at McAdams Baptist Church with burial to follow at Coleman Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm today at Culpepper Funeral Home.
Mr. Mitchell, retired owner and operator of McAdams Grocery, was a member of McAdams Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for 57 years, Choir member, Sunday School Teacher and Training Union Director. He was a WWII Veteran, a member of Masonic Lodge # 88 and Eastern Star Chapter 134. He also served Culpepper Funeral Home as a Funeral Director Assistant for many years.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy Burrell Mitchell; a son, Earl B. Mitchell, Jr. (Sara) of Brandon; a daughter, Barbara Ellington (John) of Murfreesboro, TN; brother, George I. Mitchell (Juanita) of Brandon; sister, Gladys Adcock of Kosciusko; grandchildren, Heather Grippando (Tony), Simeon Mitchell; great-grandchild, Garrett Parker; three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
